Meet Edie, the iconic one woman jewellery brand, with every piece handmade by Edie in with her curated selection of upcycled charms.

Edie, you’re making us all hotter with your brand. Why jewellery?

"That’s always the goal! Working in jewellery happened totally by accident. I started making cute lil friendship bracelets with my sisters during lockdown to send to my friends. I made an instagram page for it so I could sell more and donate the proceeds.

Eventually it gained some traction and people were asking me to source specific materials and make necklaces. I was in drama school at the time and it became a nice side hustle for some extra money, and eventually grew into the brand it is today! I love jewellery as a medium.

I’ve always been very interested in art and fashion but found them technically very challenging. Working with jewellery allows me to bring my ideas to life."

Summer is well and truly over. What’s your advice for people to keep the hot girl energy going through the cold months?

"Rise with the sun! I need to remind myself of this because I am literally always sleeping but if I’m gonna get out of bed it’s gonna be for when it’s light outside.

Get back to basics - eat your veggies, stretch, make an effort to see friends more, and go to the damn club!!! Wearing a c*nty little fur coat and drinking a cocktail in the freezing cold really does something for the soul."

From hosting events for Converse, to dressing Chloe Cherry, what’s been your biggest pinch-me moment so far?

Definitely being stocked on Schuh! It was wild getting that email. The work I did for Converse (hosting customisation workshops) was something I would have never thought of myself - shoes and jewellery don’t often go together - which made the success of it so much more exciting!

And for the team at Schuh to see that and be so impressed that they wanted to stock my designs on their website was an incredibly affirming and lovely moment."

What do you personally look for in underwear?

"Comfort duuuhhhh. I never want my attention drawn to an itchy label or a seam digging into my skin. I’m a gal with some sensory issues so uncomfortable clothing will literally ruin my day. So I look for comfy and soft underwear that still gives me a moment of confidence and feeling sexy when I catch a glimpse of it."

Is there a particularly memorable piece that's been with you through the years?

"I have the most PERFECT leopard print thong I got in one of those crazy Victoria’s Secret sales they used to do, when I was maybe 15. She’s really seen it all and makes my bum look phenomenal <3"

Lastly, what does being in the independent industry mean to you?

"It means community. The amount of fascinating people that I’ve met while doing this job is insane.

It’s so special to me to be around people who not only understand how challenging it can be to run a business alone, but people who believe in you, support you, bring up your name in the important rooms, and uplift you! It’s such an exciting and inspiring space to be in."
